Drawing Legend

The Drawing Legend lets you place a dynamic legend on your drawing page that summarizes selected takeoff properties (e.g., Area, Length, Count) for your measurements.

Andrew Kovalev·September 11, 2026

Where to find it the “Drawing Legend” tool?

  1. Go to Annotation tools.

  2. Select Drawing Legend from the dropdown.

  3. Click on the drawing to choose the insertion (paste) point.

  4. The legend will be placed on the page.

Legend settings (right-click menu):

Right-click the legend to open settings.

1) Grouping

Choose how legend entries are organized:

  • By measurement group

  • By measurement group + measurements inside

2) Properties shown in the legend

Select which takeoff data to display:

  • Area

  • Perimeter

  • Length

  • Vertical Area

  • Count

3) Scale and opacity

From the same right-click menu, you can:

  • Adjust Scale

  • Adjust Opacity

Export to PDF notes

1) “Only visible measurements” affects the exported legend

In PDF export settings, if Only visible measurements is enabled:

  • You may see many measurements listed in the legend inside Kreo (in case they exist on the same page),

  • but the exported PDF legend will include only the measurements currently visible on the drawing, so the output stays consistent and uncluttered.

2) Legend color follows your UI Theme

The legend inherits your UI Theme colors. If you want a specific legend color in the PDF:

  • Switch your UI Theme before exporting (example: switch from Night to Day for a lighter/white legend),

  • Export to PDF,

  • then switch back to your preferred theme.
