Auto Measure 2.0 is an AI-powered tool designed to find the exact areas and elements you need. Various measurement categories are available in the system, including Rooms and Areas, Doors and Windows, Wall Finishes, GIA, GEA, NIA, and Custom options. Learn how each category works, from identifying and measuring specific areas to renaming and customizing outputs with AI.

Rooms and Areas

The Rooms and Areas category allows you to search for all areas on your drawing.

During the process, you can see the progress directly on the drawing, including where the AI is “working” at the moment and how many seconds are left.

As a result, polygons will be created for all spaces. They will appear in different colors, with polygons of the same color indicating that the areas they represent are of similar size.

Include Doorways

If the Include Doorways option is enabled, the created polygons will include doorways. If it’s disabled, doorways will appear as empty spaces on the drawing.

1. "Include Doorway" is on.

2. "Include Doorways" is off.

Rename with AI

When the Rename with AI option is enabled, your polygons will be automatically named based on the text provided in your PDF.

  • If the PDF has no text or is an image (like a PNG), the polygons will not have names.

  • Any unnamed areas will be labeled as “Undefined.”

To rename polygons using AI, go to More Details and type in your request for renaming some or all of your measurements. The AI will process your request accordingly. Alternatively, you can rename polygons manually.

Doors and Windows

The Doors and Windows category allows you to find, classify, and count (or measure) all doors and windows on the drawing.

As a result, all elements will be displayed in different colors (same color indicates the same size), with their sizes included in their names (e.g., Window 600mm, Door 1500mm). You can use colors to filter measurements of the same size or group them by measurement name in the report to see counts of elements with the same size.

You can select one of two outputs:

  1. Count

  2. Center lines (if the width of the element is needed)

Wall Internal Finishes

The Wall Internal Finishes category allows you to create polylines for all internal walls on the drawing.

As a result, polylines will be generated for all spaces. They will appear in different colors, with polylines of the same color indicating that the areas they represent are of similar size.

Remove Doorways, Remove Windows

If the Remove Doorways or Remove Windows option is enabled, the polylines will be created without those elements. If the option is disabled, doorways and windows will be included in the polylines.

1. "Remove Doorways", "Remove Windows" is on.

2. "Remove Doorways", "Remove Windows" is off.

Rename with AI

When the Rename with AI option is enabled, your polylines will be automatically named based on the text provided in your PDF.

  • If the PDF has no text or is an image (like a PNG), the polygons will not have names.

  • Any unnamed areas will be labeled as “Undefined.”

To rename polygons using AI, go to More Details and type in your request for renaming some or all of your measurements.

Wall External Finishes

The Wall External Finishes category allows you to create polylines for all external walls on the drawing.

GIA, GEA

The Gross Internal Area (GIA) and Gross External Area (GEA) categories allow you to measure the internal and external areas of a building's footprint.

As a result, you will receive a polygon measurement representing the entire footprint area.

NIA

The Net Internal Area (NIA) category allows you to identify and measure all apartments on the drawing.

As a result, you will receive polygon measurements representing the internal areas of all identified apartments.

Rename with AI

When the Rename with AI option is enabled, your polygons will be automatically named based on the text provided in your PDF.

Custom

The Custom category allows you to find the exact areas you need. Simply enter the type of area you're looking for, and the AI will process your input to generate accurate measurements based on your request.

Adjusting the results

Since it’s a relatively new AI feature, some result adjustments are inevitable. Here’s what you can do if you’re not 100% satisfied with the outcome:

1. Adjust AI confidence by simply dragging the slider left or right.

2. If you want to change one of the elements, simply click on it and then select “Fix with AI’.

3. If you don’t need certain elements found by AI, click on them and select the bin icon to delete them.

4. After you’ve made adjustments and are satisfied with the result, click on the 'Create' button.
