# What is an Assembly?

Clear explanation of what Kreo means by the Assembly term & its usage

# **What is an Assembly?**

**An assembly** is a high-level object, which consists of different sets of low-level items. Let's say, our assembly is flat, then it consists of different rooms, such as kitchen, bedroom, toilet, bathroom, etc. Or if a concrete wall is an assembly, then the amount of concrete, formwork, reinforcement, concrete pouring and paint are its items.

# **How can an assembly be used in Kreo 2D Takeoff?**

Assemblies is the best way to combine frequently used [items](https://help-takeoff.kreo.net/en/articles/6158632-what-is-an-item.md) into one package, ensuring that you have everything you need to present a takeoff. Like items, assemblies are added to takeoff as needed to automatically convert takeoff data into your materials, labour, equipment, subcontracting, and various other items.
